Lil Phat
Melvin Vernell III (July 25, 1992 – June 7, 2012), better known by his stage name, Lil Phat, was an American Hip hop artist. He is best know for his contribution to the single "Independent" by Webbie. He made a number of guest appearances on Trill Entertainment releases before being killed at the age of 19.
==Biography==
Vernell was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He began rapping as a teenager, and was signed to Trill Entertainment in 2007 when he was just 15 years old; he joined the rap group "3 Deep" with two other rappers Mouse & Shell. The same year, he featured as a guest artist on label mate Webbie's single "Independent". In 2011, there was a shooting at one of his drop parties, after which one of his associates was arrested for second-degree murder.〔
